Darren Banks

Darren is a Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant with over 12 year’s experience in land remediation and contamination investigation, project management and technical reporting. His experience has allowed him in-depth understanding of geo-environmental, land-contamination and remediation aspects of brownfield development projects together with an appreciation of ground engineering.

Darren graduated in 1998 with an Environmental Science BSc Hons from Kingston University. He commenced his environmental career as an Asbestos analyst before joining Merebrook Consulting in 2002, where he is now responsible for consulting on a variety of projects. He was recently assigned as the resident environmental consultant at the remediation of a former cement works in Kent and enjoyed the opportunity to act as the liaison between the technical, desk-based science and the practical ground-level implementation of the project. It is this aspect of his role - working outside, and with a variety people - that Darren particularly enjoys.

Darren joined the Institution as he felt it was the organisation most closely aligned with his profession and because he wishes to pursue chartership. In the long-term, Darren would like to continue in the sector and progress to a point where he can become a freelance consultant.
