A vacancy has arisen for a full time Environmental Health Officer/Environmental Protection Officer.

This particular role will be primarily focussed on Land Quality, particularly the delivery the Cornwall Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy 2020-2025.

The role holder will be a key player in delivering the actions outlined in the Cornwall Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy 2020-2025. The role holder will be required to manage day to day technical enquiries from various stakeholders with regard to land quality matters and manage own workload in relation to planning applications, cases, projects and general enquires. The role holder will also be responsible for the inspection and regulation of activities under the Environmental Permitting Regulations (2016) and to assist with other duties within the team when requested. 

The role holder will work with the Senior Officer & Team Manager to ensure the co-ordinated delivery of the aims and objectives for the Service, whilst having a clear understanding of the wider vision and priorities of the Council.

The role holder will be responsible for undertaking a range of specialist duties across the county including leading projects and acting as a specialist in this key area of Environmental Protection work on behalf of Cornwall Council.
