David Holmes

David has been an IES member since 1990. He initially worked in environmental noise at the University of Southampton. Subsequently he provided advice on pollution control for local authorities, specialising in air quality from the early days of Local Air Quality Management and the regulation of industrial processes. In more recent years David has worked as a consultant on noise and air quality, undertaken a research project on abandoned mines for Defra, been a peer reviewer of environmental research projects for Defra and for a research journal, and has served on a Regional Management Board for the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. He has an Honours Degree in Environmental Health, a Masters Degree in Environmental Technology and the Diploma in Environmental Technology - Pollution Control.

David was elected to the IES Council in 2016.
