CTC x NOC 2026 Summer Virtual Work Experience Weeks
Creative Tuition Collective run a series of STEM skill development programs in collaboration with industry partners for students (aged 14-19) from historically excluded communities. These programs include presentation training, design challenges, teamwork, and ‘day-in-the-life’ style activities. The CTC x NOC 2026 Summer Virtual Work Experience Weeks is conducted in collaboration with the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), featuring Zebera.
Program details:
- Dates: Wednesday August 5th - Wednesday August 12th 2026 (work experience does not take place over the weekend).
- Location: Entirely virtual program (Zoom).
- Time: ~10am-4pm
Who is eligible to apply for this program?
- UK residents aged 14-19 (whether in school, college, or not currently studying).
- CTC welcome, and strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+, individuals with disabilities, carers, and those from lower-income households/communities. Our mission is to create an inclusive program where everyone feels where they belong.
What would you be doing during the program?
- Learn about alternative careers, and the benefit of unconventional career paths from ocean and Arctic researchers.
- Network with real scientists from different research focuses, e.g., biology, environmental science, oceanography, polar science and/or engineering.
- Engage with National Oceanography Centre Scientists as you collaborate to design a theoretical solution to a real-world STEM issue, and present this via a showcase.
- Develop a key understanding of the importance of EDI outreach, in STEM.
- Meet other students with similar career interests to your own.
- Develop essential career skills that employers want, such as networking, scientific communication, teamwork, career planning, design and CV writing.
- Understand the importance of inter-disciplinary research by conducting a design sprint with Zebera.
Additional to this summer work experience week, CTC are also offering a six-week 'Skills Accelerator Program' occurring in late 2026/early 2027. The accelerator program is optional but open to your attendance if you wish to apply. More information on this will be distributed later in 2026.
