Agent of Change Case Study: Night and Day Café
In the run up to Noise Action Week (11 - 15 May), the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) has made available highlights from a presentation on the Agent of Change and Night and Day Cafe: Protecting grassroots using Acoustic Capital. The presentation was given by Peter Rogers, Managing Director at Sustainable Acoustics, at the IOA's Central Branch event in January 2026. The presentation outlines the landmark statutory nuisance ruling, how it provides hope for venues facing residential encroachment challenges, and explains how the Agent of Change principle works in practice.

Peter Rogers
Peter has over 30 years as a consultant and ex local authority officer to drawn on when providing expert witness testimony, with his original degree in Physics and Medical Physics. He now owns and runs Sustainable Acoustics Ltd. providing acoustic expertise in environmental and building acoustics as a carbon neutral service. He was recently recognised by the Institute and the Association of Noise Consultants for his work in sustainability and continues to strive to use acoustics to improve life.
