This form is to join the Environmental Policy Implementation Community (EPIC). There is also an additional option to join the National Contaminated Land Officers Group (NCLOG) if your work contains significant elements of land contamination.
This form is for people who are not current IES members and who work as environmental professionals in local authorities. IES members wanting to join EPIC should sign up via Manage my Communities in the Members' Portal.
About EPICEPIC members are local authority officers and other environmental professionals delivering environmental protection, climate action and nature recovery on the ground. The community works together to understand delivery challenges, share good practice, and advocate for implementation-minded policy.
In recognition of the tight budgetary constraints on local government, as well as increasing demands from new policy regimes such as mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain, Local Nature Recovery Strategies, and Environmental Outcomes Reports, EPIC membership is free for local authority environmental professionals. The National Contaminated Land Officers Group (NCLOG) is a member-led, specialist interest group and is part of the Environmental Policy Implementation Community (EPIC). NCLOG members are Contaminated Land Officers (CLOs) working in local authorities. The community works together to act as the national voice for CLOs in the UK and to promote consistency across the sector. NCLOG provides a home for CLOs to share ideas and knowledge, supports members through developing guidance and resources and provides peer support to individual CLOs, who may be the sole individuals dealing with land contamination in their Council.Membership of NCLOG is exclusively open to local authority professionals whose work involves significant elements of land contamination, on an individual rather than an employer basis.
