ROAD to COP30: Adapting to 1.5+ Degrees

Despite a significant increase in focus at recent climate COPs, climate adaptation remains underfunded and under-recognised. With the prospect of a world beyond 1.5 degrees looking increasingly likely, how can we adapt to the challenges posed by flooding, droughts, food insecurity, and energy resilience?

Ahead of the COP30 climate summit taking place in Brazil in November, the IES is focused on the issues that will shape the agenda. Regardless of the pace of climate mitigation, adaptation is essential, so COP30 must work to support worldwide resilience.

This panel discussion reflected on the current state of climate adaptation and the increased urgency of resilience as we face the likelihood of a world beyond 1.5 degrees.

The event was part of our ROAD to COP30 discussion series.
