This webinar will be the livestream for the launch of our latest report: ‘The Golden Thread of Governance: Reconnecting environmental targets with credible outcomes’.

IES President Julie Hill MBE has organised this special panel discussion to launch the report following a challenge project over the last two years, looking at the governance gaps that make it difficult to meet environmental targets. The project has been informed by input from government, arms-length bodies, research, and professional practice, from across the four countries of the UK, using the circular economy and biodiversity as case study topics.

This event will conclude the project by launching a report and seven recommendations on targets, delivery plans, and other aspects of achieving environmental outcomes through a ‘golden thread’ of governance. Each recommendation will be supported by case studies of successful approaches, to support adoption.

After launching the report, Julie will chair a panel discussion of expert speakers, followed by questions from the audience.
