2016 Membership Fees

To maintain their membership and benefits, IES members pay their annual renewal fees in January. The Institution is sensitive to our members’ needs and so has made every attempt to make subscriptions as low as possible. In previous years we have either frozen membership fees or kept them to an inflationary rise. However, on occasions we are forced by rising costs to impose an above-inflationary rise in fees. The IES Council has agreed the rises to ensure that the Institution continues to provide a first-rate level of service to members, and to further develop our membership offering.

Adam Donnan, CEO commented: "In 2015 we moved premises and grew the Project Office team, increasing our financial commitments. Recent developments mean that the value members get from their Institution has substantially increased, so the board and I remain confident that IES Membership represents exceptional value for money. To continue this strong track record of expansion in membership services and to further grow of the organisation a small above-inflationary rise in membership fees is essential to increase our operating revenues."

IES Membership remains markedly lower than similar professional bodies in the environmental field. We are also pleased to keep CSci and all IAQM memberships at the same level as last year. CEnv fees have risen by £2 to reflect an increase imposed by the Registration Body for Chartered Environmentalists, the Society for the Environment. Discounts remain in place for members who have retired, are seeking work or on parental leave.
