Delivering air quality
Delivering action on air quality is a key part of EPIC’s work, and it has been central to our history for decades. EPIC’s predecessor organisations have long brought together air quality professionals to improve policy and support effective action on the ground, from the National Society for Clean Air through Environmental Protection UK (EPUK) and now EPIC.
Today, we continue that legacy by connecting expertise, evidence and practical experience to support better air quality. This includes helping local authorities take effective action through our Integrating Action on Air Quality & Climate Change guidance, advocating for stronger national policy as a founding member of the Healthy Air Coalition, and working with our sister organisation, the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM), to update our Planning for Air Quality guidance. Through this work, we aim to bridge the gap between ambitious air quality policy and the practical action needed to deliver cleaner air for communities across the UK.
