Delivering nature recovery
Delivering nature recovery is a core focus for EPIC, with a particular emphasis on turning ambitious environmental policy into effective action on the ground. We bring together practitioners and experts to explore how new nature recovery regimes, including mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), Local Nature Recovery Strategies and Environmental Delivery Plans, can work in practice,.
Our sector-leading BNG in Practice project, delivered jointly with the Association of Local Government Ecologists (ALGE), brought together the experiences of more than 200 practitioners to assess how mandatory BNG was working one year after implementation. The project culminated in a major report with recommendations for improving delivery, alongside a programme of events throughout 2025. We are continuing this work through a programme of BNG-focused events in 2026, creating opportunities for practitioners to share experience, explore emerging challenges and help shape the future of nature recovery policy and delivery.
