Environmental Impact Assessment Community

A science-led approach to impact assessment

EIA as a tool for design

Our EIA Community provides a forum for thought-provoking, critical conversations around EIA from a science-based perspective. The Community aims to connect and support environmental scientists and practitioners working across a range of specialisms involved in the EIA process. It champions the ethos of utilising EIA as a tool to support decision-making, leading to better environmental impacts from developments, and is focussed on providing environmental professionals involved in EIAs with the knowledge and skills to support this.

The Community holds regular events, including case study webinars and discussion events. The Community collaborates with other relevant organisations to support open dialogue across those involved in project development, including planning and construction professionals.

Why you should join our EIA Community

Our EIA Community brings together members working across the range of sectors, roles and fields involved in developments, ranging from smaller projects to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

Those involved in any part of the EIA process are encouraged to join the community, along with those working in planning, engineering, construction, policy and regulation. Greater collaboration and knowledge exchange is needed across all professionals involved in development, to ensure that EIA can be used as a tool to support design and delivery of developments with improved environmental outcomes.
