Ecology and Conservation

This live webinar will introduce the new Biodiversity Metric 3.0 and will highlight how an ability to measure net gain can deliver significant benefits for nature, people and places.

Biodiversity net gain sits at the heart of the Environment Bill and will become a future legal requirement for most developments in England. Biodiversity Metric 3.0 will underpin this future legal requirement and will be utilised by developers, planning authorities, ecologists and land managers alike.

  • The webinar will provide an opportunity to understand:
  • The benefits that using a biodiversity metric can provide
  • How biodiversity metric 3.0 can help you meet current and future consenting requirements
  • How biodiversity metric 3.0 can help landowners access the growing market in delivering nature improvements
  • How to access Biodiversity Metric 3.0

In addition, the webinar will also introduce:

  • A beta version of the biodiversity metric 3.0 that has been developed for use on small development sites – coined the ‘Small Sites Metric’ - which we are keen to get feedback on
  • A beta version of the Environmental Benefits from Nature Tool (formerly known as the eco-metric), a voluntary tool that can be used in conjunction with the biodiversity metric 3.0 to maximise wider ecosystem service benefits
