About Sea Trust Wales
Sea Trust Wales is a marine conservation charity based in Pembrokeshire. Our mission is to encourage local people to take care of their marine wildlife by conducting scientific research, raising awareness of marine conservation issues, educating the public and contributing to the conservation of the marine environment. Our objectives are to protect our marine environment through education and by collecting important scientific data on many of Pembrokeshire’s protected species. We work all year round, monitoring marine life around the coast and in the Irish Sea, conducting regular marine mammal surveys. We introduce residents and visitors to local marine life via our catch-and-release aquarium and visitor centre. We also work with school groups and local organisations to educate people about the marine environment and how they can work to protect it.
Work Placements
We have several work placements available for 2027-2028 (earliest start date: August 2027). These are long-term placements for University students taking a Sandwich Year/Year in Industry. Graduates are also welcome to apply, although please note that the placement is unpaid. These positions offer valuable experience and training. We are a small team, and all help across multiple departments. Much of our wildlife survey work is land-based and in remote locations, often requiring some walking to reach; therefore, a reasonable level of fitness is required to be able to partake in surveys. If you have any accessibility requirements or concerns, you’re welcome to contact us to discuss options/alternative arrangements before applying.
