Green Taxonomies: Joint letter from NGOs
After the pivotal COP26 climate summit was held in Glasgow in 2021, several NGOs teamed up to highlight the importance of clear and effective taxonomies as a step towards delivering finance for net zero.
In particular, the letter called for the UK to deliver its commitment for a science-based green taxonomy. At the time, the letter was well-received, and work continued towards the green taxonomy until it was cancelled in 2025.
Given the importance of finance to delivering global climate commitments, the IES supported the letter.
