Health and the Environment Bill: Letter from the Environmental Policy Forum
Following the UK's decision to leave the European Union, a large amount of work took place to create an environmental framework for the UK. In particular, the Environment Bill was a key part of the legislation working towards that goal, eventually becoming the Environment Act 2021.
In October 2019, the Environmental Policy Forum wrote to the Secretary of State for Health & Social Care to discuss the Bill and the opportunities it presented to maximise health and wellbeing.
The IES supported the letter, highlighting the important synergies between thriving people, a healthy economy, and a flourishing environment.
