Consultation on Levelling-Up & Regeneration Act (LURA)

In 2023, the Levelling-Up & Regeneration Act (LURA) proposed to reform Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs).

Responding to the consultation, several concerns were raised about how EORs would work in practice, including by the IES, which led to the transition to EORs being paused. 

This response from the IES picks up on several issues around the future of EIA, as well as the other proposals in the Levelling-Up Act.
