National Planning Policy Framework: 2024 revisions

After the Labour Government came to power in the 2024 General Election, it held a consultation on changes to the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). The NPPF sets planning policy at a national level in England and is a crucial strategic level document for assuring outcomes through the planning process, particularly around sustainable development.

In our response to the consultation, we highlighted areas of uncertainty that still need to be addressed, particularly around the new 'grey belt' designation and the systemic effects of environmental impacts over the long-term.
