Marine & Coastal Science Community meeting: open to all IES members
Free and open to IES members
Join us for the Marine & Coastal Science Community's final meeting of 2026. This interactive session will give you the chance to connect with environmental professionals with an interest in marine and coastal science, and to feed into the Community's priorities for 2027.
We are delighted to extend an invitation to this meeting to members of other IES Communities. You're welcome to join us if your work intersects with the marine or coastal environment, or even if you just have an interest in marine and coastal issues and would like to learn more. Our Steering Group is intentionally interdisciplinary as we seek to involve a wide range of perspectives and expertise in our work, noting the complex and interconnected nature of marine and coastal science within wider environmental systems.
The agenda will include:
- Updates on the Community's work in 2026, its first full year in action.
- The chance to feed into plans for 2027.
- An opportunity to discuss cross-cutting issues from across the environment that intersect with marine and coastal science. Members of the Steering Group will provide quickfire summaries of interdisciplinary projects they've worked on, and we invite attendees to share updates on relevant projects or aspects of their role to facilitate connection and learning across our membership.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to contribute to the discussion, please submit comments via email to Amy Bond (communities@the-ies.org).
Please note: your registration will be manually approved, after which you will be sent joining details. If you have any questions or issues regarding registration please contact Amy Bond (communities@the-ies.org).
Not a Community member?
If you're already an IES member, you can join our Communities via the Manage my Communities form in the Members' Portal. Our Communities bring professionals together around a shared goal, interest or set of values. Working with them, the IES generates events, publications, guidance, and policy work to transform our environment and our members' careers.
If you're not yet an IES member, consider joining us to take advantage of member-only events and meetings. Whether you are in the early stages of your career or have advanced to a senior level, the IES offers membership services designed to help you gain recognition and advance to the next level. We welcome and encourage applications from all environmental science disciplines.
