The Role:
Due to some changes within the business, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Acoustic Consultant to
help manage, lead and develop an existing acoustics team within our successful multi-disciplinary
consultancy. The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Be a good “all-rounder” with a strong skill set and track record covering the environmental and industrial acoustic sectors. Technical skills and experience on architectural acoustics and building serviceswould also be desirable;
  • Be a corporate Member or Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics;
  • Have natural leadership qualities and act as a point of reference and knowledge within the business, mentoring and training junior staff;
  • Have the technical and commercial knowledge required to develop and win new business and a desire to help drive the future growth of the company;
  • Be a confident communicator and be able to represent the business in a professional manner at both client and public meetings;
  • Be able to generate, maintain and establish strong client relationships;
  • Possess the technical skills, confidence and responsibility for ensuring the technical rigour of the services provided, and the implementation of our Health and Safety and Quality Assurance Management systems; and
  • Some expert witness experience would also be an advantage.

Key Skills and Responsibilities

  • Undertake and oversee noise assessments and surveys;
  • Project management (client, deliverables, timescales and budget);
  • Staff management, mentoring and development;
  • Undertake, mentor and oversee Noise modelling work, using various software packages, particularly
  • Cadna-A; 
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of technical reports;
  • Peer review work, internal and external;
  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of fee proposals;
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities and engineers regarding project requirements; and
  • Have an interest in Continued Professional Development.
