Christine is an air quality and emissions expert who has worked in model development and consultancy leading air quality teams. She now runs her own business. She led development of world-leading dispersion models and forecasting and alerting systems including those for Beijing and London (airTEXT). airTEXT communicates forecasts of air quality directly to the public including the most vulnerable. She has provided planning and other technical support to the Greater London Authority and Transport for London, developing aspects of the new London Local Air Quality Management regime, and leading a comparison of air quality in London with air quality in cities around the world.
Christine provided expertise internationally, as the EU expert on air quality in the EU/China Liaoning Integrated Environment Programme and on collaborative international projects or the European Space Agency, EU 7th Framework, and the European Commission. She has provided training internationally to air quality professionals and regulators.
As member of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) Committee, and now Chair, Christine has led responses to government consultations, sought to improve governance and widen the participation of members in contributing actively to the work of IAQM and IES.
Christine was elected to the IES Council in 2020.
