Adam Donnan

Chief Executive Officer

Adam has worked for the IES is various roles since 2006. In 2013 he was made the organisation's first CEO. Adam is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Chartered Environmentalist.  Between July 2014 and March 2015, he was the Interim CEO of the Society for the Environment, an umbrella body for registration, bringing together 24 professional institutes.  He is currently a trustee of the Science Council.  Previously, he has held board positions as Vice President of the European Network of Environmental Professionals (ENEP) and was a non-Executive Director of Change Agents UK (2011-16). He was the 2014 Young Leader of the Year at the Association Awards UK. He holds an MBA and a BA in History, and has a passion for long distance running.

Chloe Fletcher

Operations & Business Development Lead

Chloe oversees the operations of the IES - including its security polices, health and safety, and environmental management plans - and acts as the Institution's Data Protection Officer. She undertakes and manages a number of projects to improve and build membership services and income streams. Chloe joined the IES team in September 2015 as an Office Administrator and was Membership & Projects Officer from August 2016 to March 2018. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Environmental Modelling, both from UCL, the latter of which she was commended in the 2018 Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement.

Rhianna Jarvis

Events & Training Lead

Rhianna is responsible for running all IES Events and Training workshops as well as engaging university students with the student membership programme. She has a BSc in Nutrition from Sheffield Hallam University and is passionate about sustainability and marine management.

Paddy Fowler

Publications Officer

Paddy joined the IES in October 2017 and is responsible for IES publications, this includes editing the house journal, the environmental SCIENTIST; and producing news articles, guidance documents, analysis blogs and reports for the website. He studied for an MSc in Science Communication at the University of Manchester, is passionate about the conservation of waterways and is a keen fisherman.

Rhiannon Humphreys

Education & Professional Development Officer

Rhiannon is responsible for education, standards, and CPD. She joined the IES team in February 2019. She studied International Relations at the University of Leeds with a keen interest in environmental theories and feminist environmentalism.

Alex MacNaughton

Office Administrator

Alex joined the IES in March 2018 and helps with administrative support. She has a design degree from Nottingham Trent University and is interested in ocean conservation. She is currently illustrating an educational children's book relating to plastic consumption and the affect on the ocean.

Lisa Abbott

Office Administrator

Lisa joined the IES in June 2016 to help with administrative support for our membership, events and publications. Her previous roles include Internal Account/Administration Manager for a software development company and Editorial Assistant for a medical publishing company.

Kate Saker

Graphic Designer (contractor)

Kate is an accomplished designer with over 15 years experience in print, digital, social media, packaging and exhibition design. She has a wealth of client experience encompassing the arts, professional services and large international brands such as Cunard, Royal Mail, World Gold Council, Procter and Gamble and Unilever. Kate started her career in one of London's top design agencies and now runs her own boutique design agency. She has a BA in Design and Media. In her spare time she loves to travel and discover new places and people to meet.

Fry

Wellbeing Officer

Fry joined the IES team in 2017 to boost morale and offer support through particularly difficult periods. He is the first to answer the door every day and puts in the extra hours, often staying with members of staff out of office hours and at the weekends. Fry loves nothing more than long walks and belly scratches.
