Linsey Cottrell

Linsey Cottrell has worked in environmental consultancy for the last 20 years and has a degree background in chemistry.  Whilst completing her MSc in Environmental Pollution & Control, Linsey gained her initial interest in contaminated land assessment and began her career working as an Environmental Consultant on various operational and redundant industrial sites.  She has covered a diverse range of contaminants and land quality issues and is qualified as a Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC).

Linsey is currently based in West Yorkshire and works for Sweco, who are a Swedish engineering consultancy firm.  She continues to work with a broad range of industrial clients, developers, utility companies, contractors and owners of large property portfolios such as the Ministry of Defence.  As well as land quality and environmental risk assessment, she also works in supporting clients through environmental permitting and the planning process, maintaining a keen interest in sustainable development.

From working with a variety of colleagues and clients, Linsey recognises the importance of early engagement, clear communication of environmental issues and presentation of information to technical and non-technical audiences.

Linsey was elected to Council in 2016 and re-elected for a second term in 2019.
