Calling all IES Student Members.

Are you starting to apply for graduate jobs in the environmental sector? Do you want to learn more about what employers are looking for? Need some help on making your CV stand out from the rest? Then attend our free Environmental Employability Day. 

This year we will be hosting our Environmental Employability Day at the University of Derby. A full, interactive and engaging day designed to equip you with the skills you need to secure your dream graduate job.

Throughout the day you will attend various workshops and hear from environmental professionals sharing their advice on how you can separate yourself from others and stand out in the application process.

Workshops include

CV Clinic - learn how to compile a knock out CV and efficiently tailor it to meet the needs of each job application
What Employers Want - chat to environmental professionals and hear first hand what they are looking for in graduate-level applicants
Insight from the interview panel - gather tips and techniques from experts regularly involved in graduate recruitment and discuss ways you can effectively prepare for interviews
Where can your degree take you? - you'll leave feeling motivated, inspired and energised by the career opportunities open to you

Throughout the day professionals will discuss emerging topics within the sector, be on hand to answer any of your questions and provide advice on the entire application process.

The Environmental Employability Day will teach you how to stand out when applying for internships, placements and graduate jobs!

Free to attend

This free event is open to all IES student members enrolled on an IES accredited programmes, affiliate members currently studying at any level, and associate members who graduated after 1st January 2018.

Not a student member? Don't worry, if you are enrolled on an IES accredited course you can sign up for free IES student membership. Find out if your course is accredited.

We highly recommend final and second-year students to attend.

How to get there

This workshop will be held at the Derby campus, University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB. Travel information can be found here. Please note if travelling by train, the campus is ~20 minutes bus ride from the station, buses run frequently to and from the campus, please check the website and allow enough travel time.
