IES Forum: Site visits during COVID-19 - Staying safe and keeping compliant

Tuesday, 23 June 2020 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
Online

This is the second of a series of online forums where we invite professionals to join us in discussion over topical challenges and developments from across the environmental sector.

As site visits resume for many professionals working in the environmental sector, we want to support our members with staying safe when conducting site visits, whilst remaining compliant with monitoring regulations. This forum will explore examples of how the sector has adapted to conducting virtual site visits, innovative approaches, lessons learned so far considering the current restrictions and how organisations are adapting their work practices during the pandemic. We will explore how current restrictions are impacting operation and explore how the sector will adapt these processes moving back into a 'new normal'.

Our speakers

  • George Gibbs, Associate Director at Noise Consultants Ltd - The Site Suitability Indicator (SSI) – A tool developed to inform an understanding of a site’s acoustic environment
  • Rosie Jones, Assistant Consultant and Jake Hawkey, Consultancy Manager at Argyll Environmental - Argyll Environmental: Virtual Site Visits, Staying Safe and Keeping Compliant
  • Tomas Sys, Principal at Ramboll Environment & Health – Remote Site Visits – Adapting in response to the Covid-19 pandemic

Hear from professionals working in Acoustics, Ecology and Land Condition discussing how COVID-19 has affected their ability to conduct site visits. You will have the opportunity to ask questions, helping to address the uncertainty surrounding current best practice.
