IES WEBINAR - What does BREXIT mean for my EU funding? with Simon Pascoe, ENEP

Friday, 25 November 2016 - 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Webinar - Online

Simon Pascoe who represents the European network of Environmental Professionals in Brussels has over 20 years experience of working with local authorities, universities and NGOs on EU funding opportunities.

In this free IES webinar, Simon will explain the latest developments on funding post BREXIT and how to best proceed for long and short-term funding during this uncertain period.

With Article 50 not being triggered until March 2017, the UK exit from the EU is unlikely to occur before January 2019. As we hit the mid term point in the 2014-2020 EU funding programmes, focus in Brussels is already turning to the preparation of a multi annual budget for the period 2020-2027.

So until the UK formally leaves the EU at the end of March 2019, it remains a full member state with no changes. All existing EU funding agreements and arrangements remain valid and in place as long as the UK is still a member of the EU. UK applicants remain eligible for all EU funding available before the referendum. Whilst all of this will change after the UK's exit, new agreements with the EU will bring new or amended funding opportunities in the future.

In the meantime, programmes like Horizon 2020 have launched a whole series of calls for 2017 which might be of interest to members. Go to ENEP's website to consult the latest Newsflash 51.  UK organisations should seek to maximise their window of opportunity while they remain eligible for EU funds.
