Help us promote the amazing work of female environmental scientists

Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester 28th July 12:00-15:00

The IES are collaborating with Soapbox Science and MMU to bring to you a Soapbox Science – Environmental Special event this summer.

Soapbox Science is a hugely successful public engagement project promoting women working in the sciences and this particular event will look to increase the public’s interest and awareness of environmental science.

12 female scientists will be talking to the public in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens over a period of 3 hours in order to engage with those who may never have the opportunity to learn about environmental science in an accessible and unintimidating way.

This event will help to raise the profile of women working in environmental fields and the great work that they are doing.

Soapbox Science has proven impact in reaching target audiences, and in the past speakers have reached up to 1,025 people in 3 hours.

How you can help - sponsoring this event

We are looking for sponsors for this event to help cover the costs of our speakers travel, props and soapboxes. As well as supporting a fantastic project, our sponsor’s logos will be present on our soapboxes on the day and your sponsorship will be publicised on both the IES and Soapbox Science website and twitter feeds.

Sponsorship will be £250 per soapbox and there will be 4 Soapboxes in total.

If you would like to find out more about this please contact Emma or the IES office on 020 7601 1920.

Volunteering at the event

If you live in the Manchester area and would like to help out, we are also looking for volunteers to help out with the smooth running of the event on the day. If you're interested please contact Emma for more information.
