NERC calls for Peer Review College members

The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) plays a leading role in environmental science research. The NERC Peer Review College (PRC) play a crucial role in allocating funds and maintaining the quality of research is kept at a high standard. 

PRC members receive up to 8 proposals (grants and fellowships) per year to review, alongside approximately 520 other college members.

NERC is currently recruiting for PRC members, core panel members and panel chairs to refresh the current membership and support its peer review process. There are a number of areas that NERC are specifically seeking applicants in the environmental sciences, these include: 

  • Animal behaviour ecology
  • Bird migration and behaviour
  • Coral reefs
  • Data/modelling
  • Deep sea benthic ecosystems
  • Glacial and cryospheric systems
  • Land use ecology
  • Large scale atmospheric dynamics and transport
  • Ocean-atmospheric interactions
  • Solar & Solar-terrestrial physics
  • Science based archaeology
  • Technology for environmental applications
  • Volcanic processes

 

All appointments will begin on the 1st of January 2020.
