Our 2016 Salary Survey is now open

Every two years the IES conducts a salary survey of our members, which contributes to our popular Salary Guide Report. We are now collecting data for the 2016 salary survey and need your input!

The results of this survey allow us to analyse trends in pay in relation to age, sector, position, gender and background. This year, to assist with our work on diversity and inclusion, we are also asking about flexible working arrangements. This information provides invaluable insight into the state of the environmental sciences as a sector and helps us tailor our work to best benefit our members.

Our last salary survey, in 2014, highlighted a worrying discrepany between male and female average salaries, especially in more senior positions. This year we hope to see if this is changing and use our findings to inform our work for equality and inclusion across the environmental sciences.

The survey will take less than ten minutes to complete. All data submmitted will be treated as strictly confidential. We encourage all professional-grade members (Associate, Member, Fellow and Retired) to complete the survey and assist with this valuable research, which will drive progress in the sector.

As an added bonus, all members completing the survey will have the chance to win a year's free membership of the IES.

UPDATE - This survey is now closed.
