Zhe Tian

Zhe currently works as an Assistant Air Quality Consultant at Atkins Plc, SNC-Lavalin Group, where he is involved in air quality assessments, on-site monitoring and modelling. Currently, Zhe is working at a large rail interchange undertaking an air quality survey using continuous monitoring systems.

"This has been an interesting opportunity as the dataset from continuous monitoring is large and the case study is one of a kind, I am eager to see the results."

The best aspects of Zhe's role are that he can bring in his university experience and knowledge and apply it directly to his daily work. He has also been able to develop his project management skills and coordination with other teams has helped him to improve his understanding of effective and efficient air pollution mitigation.

"I have spent time understanding the IAQM dust assessment guidance so that I can conduct assessments quickly and accurately. Being a member of IAQM and IES provides me with a platform to network with peers in the industry. I really appreciate the CPD tool and opportunities available through my membership which will help me to progress and make the right career decisions along the way."

Zhe is also looking to become Chartered in the near future and is looking forward to working with both industry professionals and academics to further develop his skills in air quality management.
