The Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer with proven ability to maintain the growth and impact of the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience of working in a senior management position within a professional body or non-profit environment, and be looking for their next challenge. They will be positive, optimistic, innovative, energetic and able effectively to manage, motivate and maximise the impact of the IES team.

As Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will need to thrive in an environment where they deal with responsibilities quickly and effectively, and enjoy a large degree of autonomy. The CEO is the leader and ‘hands-on’ problem solver for a small team. They will need to be member-focussed, technologically-aware, goal driven and be able to operate across a wide-ranging portfolio of publications, advocacy, policy, events and training services.

Crucially, the successful candidate must also be able to maintain and develop strong relationships with all stakeholders – the Board (Council), committees, staff, members, Government departments and other partner organisations.

This senior role provides a great opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants to progress in their career and to inspire a dynamic and rapidly expanding professional environmental organisation.
