The Green Investment Ratings Team of the Green Investment Group Limited (GIG) is seeking a highly motivated Executive to help GIG support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. This Edinburgh-based role, reporting to a Senior Manager, will involve working in the Green Investment Ratings Team as it supports the international expansion of GIG. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, monitoring and reporting on the green impact and rating of investments by GIG or third parties. You will have 5-10 years' experience with a proven track record in applying environmental science, policy and/or management skills within (or advising clients) in one or more of the following sectors - infrastructure development, investment banking, private equity or M&A / investment advisory.
You will have a strong technical understanding of environmental issues, to enable assessment of projects' environmental characteristics and risks. You will also have the ability to review and summarise large quantities of environmental information and identify the material issues, and summarise the green impact of investments for consideration by investment committee. Quantification of the environmental benefits (green impact) of investments is a key feature of the role, so strong numeracy skills and ability to handle data are essential.
In addition to presenting information to GIG's senior management and investment staff, the role will also involve engagement with GIG's external stakeholders, and so requires excellent oral and written communication skills (preferably including ability with visual design).
