The IES – a visionary and fast growing membership organisation leading debate, dissemination and promotion of environmental science and sustainability – is looking for a Marketing and Events Manager.

You will be highly motivated, outgoing, dynamic and result-focused individual.  You will be able to dive straight into a number of current projects, build good internal relationships from the outset and deliver projects quickly and within budget. You will have a good working knowledge of all elements of the marketing mix, and demonstrate sound creativity, copy writing and project management skills.

You will also be responsible for events, from conception to completion. This is a role with real responsibility from day one and will give you the opportunity to apply your skills in a dual role in conjunction with a small but dynamic and growing project office.

This new position is a one-year full time with a three month probationary period, with the view to extending if successful.  The IES project office is a small and close knit team with a flexible approach to tasks and responsibilities. It is essential that a candidate appreciates and can work within these conditions.

Core marketing responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery and evolution of the marketing strategy and work with the CEO to implement further developments when necessary
  • Promote the IES brand, policies and core values
  • Promote and expand the IES membership and its services
  • Coordinate market research to identify interest and uptake for current and future membership services
  • Work with the Publications and Policy Officer to achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage of the IES

Core events responsibilities

  • Help develop our events from proposal right up to delivery
  • With input from the Project Team each year you will develop, maintain and deliver on an annual plan for events that ensures a geographical and sectoral balance, a range of sizes (from workshop to conference) and identify suitable topics.
