As part of ongoing plans for expansion, SLR’s Air Quality team is looking to appoint an experienced Air Quality consultant to join its Bristol office, and play a key role in the teams’ continued growth and development in the region.

As well as a detailed knowledge of air quality issues in the UK, candidates are likely to be comfortable with the business aspects of environmental consultancy, including project management and generation of fees through consultancy.

SLR’s Bristol office has recently relocated to newly refurbished premises in The Brew House in the Temple Meads area, convenient for both the city centre and mainline rail connections and well served by park and ride facilities for connections to the M4/5. The office offers a large multidisciplinary presence with a wealth of complementary technical discipline expertise spanning SLR’s breadth of expertise.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As an air quality specialist, you will be required to promote the SLR air quality team in the marketplace, help facilitate further growth and play a direct role in the delivery of a diverse range of projects. This will include detailed dispersion modelling and assessment of transport and industrial air quality, odour assessments, input into EIAs and Environmental Permit applications and ambient air quality and odour monitoring. An element of site work would be required as part of the role.

The successful candidate will join an exciting and dynamic team, and become involved in all aspects of project delivery from client liaison and task / project management, and report production. A high level of technical competence is required with practical experience in dispersion modelling software desirable (including AERMOD, ADMS 5, ADMS Roads). Additional training on the use of dispersion modelling software would be provided.

PERSON SPEC – SUMMARY

  • Experienced Air Quality consultant who can demonstrate both technical and commercial experience in a similar role.
  • Technical experience to include dispersion modelling (Aermod/ADMS/ADMS Roads/DRMB), AQ, Dust and Odour Assessments
  • Confident in both managing existing client relationships and developing new clients/workloads
  • Relevant numerically-based degree and appropriate level of membership of IAQM/IenvSc or equivalent is required
