Capita Property & Infrastructure is a large multidisciplinary consultancy currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior / Principal Air Quality Consultant to lead and grow the Air Quality Team. The role will combine Business Development responsibilities with Project Management and Technical Delivery of air quality and odour projects. Projects are principally UK based and range from small dispersion modelling studies and monitoring programmes through to major residential, industrial and infrastructure environmental impact assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Business development of air quality services
- Technical and commercial management of air quality and odour projects
- Liaison with clients, and planning and regulatory bodies
- Initial site appraisals and consultation
- Tender preparation (both standalone and support of multidisciplinary bids)
- Technical / interpretative reporting for EIA, planning and regulation compliance
- Technical supervision and mentoring of junior team members
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ relevant UK experience
- Ability to work alone and within multidisciplinary teams
- Business development experience with track record of winning and successfully delivering projects, and building long-term client relations
- Experience of dispersion modelling and GIS packages
- Practical experience of passive and automatic air pollution monitoring
- Understanding of the LAQM and UK planning and regulatory system
- Good communication and report writing skills
- An environmentally based degree and, ideally, a postgraduate qualification in Atmospheric Science or similar
- Membership of the IAQM
- Chartered Scientist or Environmentalist
