Send CV and short statement of interest to Adam Donnan

As part of our strategic aims to build networks, facilitate collaboration and influence, the IES seeks to appoint individuals to appropriate external bodies to further our mission. We have received an invitation for the IES to join SiLC. Given the recent expansion of our Land Condition remit, it seems logical to have IES represented on the board and technical panel.  SiLC have noted a large number of the applications for the SQP qualification are from applicants chartered through the IES.

We need to nominate a Technical Representative to sit on their Professional Technical Panel which provides steer to the development of the Register and associated services. The technical representative is someone active in the land condition industry who has an interest in improving standards and developing technical expertise. You must be a Full Member or Fellow of the IES and ideally, you will Chartered.

Time commitment
You will need to be able to commit to attending the majority of their quarterly Professional and Technical Panel meetings (11am-3pm on a weekday), either in person or by telephone. Typically three meetings will be held in central London and one outside (Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds or Nottingham). The IES will cover any reasonable travel expenses incurred.

The external representative will report back to the IES Council or the Project Office after meetings, and flag any business of interest or issues which may have budgetary, strategic, legal or reputational implications for the Institution and/or our members.

Applying
If you are interested in applying to be the IES representative, please send your CV and a short statement of interest to adam@the-ies.org by Friday 24th May. If you would like a confidential conversation about the opportunity, please call 020 3862 7484 to talk to Adam Donnan our CEO. A decision will be made by the IES Council and the successful candidate notified at the beginning of June.
