As a key member of the group sustainability team, this role will lead all sustainability data and risk reporting requirements, ensuring best practice, enabling insight and measuring impact across the Group. 

The Role:

The role is responsible for leading Grosvenor’s global sustainability reporting, including progress against our Grosvenor-wide carbon commitment.  This covers collecting data, and producing high quality reporting and analysis, on the business’ performance towards achieving our environmental and social goals.  The role will support across seven diverse business units (BUs) and provide them with the insight and understanding to inform decision making and enhance sustainability performance.

The role will also lead on creating a framework for impact reporting, identifying common metrics, and tracking the impact of the business against the emerging sustainability framework, including the existing Grosvenor-wide carbon commitment as well as future initiatives covering impact on nature and people.

In addition, this role will also support all internal and external sustainability reporting and publications, ensuring our compliance with global external benchmarks/policy.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development and execution of Grosvenor’s global sustainability reporting plan

Undertake strategic reviews of global mandatory and voluntary sustainability standards, ensuring alignment with relevant evolving global standards (e.g. CSRD, GRI, ISSB)
Monitor regulatory trends and advise leadership on emerging sustainability disclosure requirements.
Identify and consider best practice sustainability data and reporting approaches, platforms, and protocols, learning from other businesses and ensuring Grosvenor stays ahead. 
Manage Grosvenor’s evolving approach to climate risk through monitoring industry best practice and regulatory requirements, and develop Grosvenor’s approach to nature risk

2. Lead Grosvenor’s global sustainability data collection process

Identify metrics and design frameworks and KPIs to track and evaluate social, environmental, and/or economic impact, in line with industry best practice and the emerging Grosvenor sustainability framework
Implement and maintain systems, controls, dashboards and platforms for global sustainability data collection and reporting, including existing structures for collecting and reporting against the Grosvenor-wide carbon commitment.
Provide support and guidance to all BUs specifically on metrics, data and reporting, including existing processes for collecting and reporting against the Grosvenor-wide carbon commitment.
Manage ongoing data collection from BUs in line with our global sustainability framework, driving continuous improvement in global sustainability data quality and consistency

3. Lead Grosvenor’s sustainability reporting & disclosure activities 

Oversee the preparation and publication of the annual Sustainability Report, including reporting progress against the Grosvenor-wide carbon commitment, and other disclosures.
Coordinate all BUs on the reporting of sustainability-related data, including validation and assurance where required. 
Share and provide insights and analysis in a transparent and engaging way that will help drive forward progress against our global sustainability goals
Coordinate BU climate risk governance and prepare annual Group level climate risk disclosures

4. Work strategically to develop an industry leading approach to social impact reporting.

Develop Grosvenor’s overall social impact KPIs, ensuring alignment with business purpose and values
Collaborate with colleagues, partners and communities to ensure accountable, inclusive impact practices
Work across functions and BUs to integrate impact thinking into all key operations and decision-making.
Advise leadership on best practices in impact measurement and responsible growth.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong data management, interpretation and analytical skills with the ability to efficiently manipulate and make sense of large datasets across a variety of social and environmental metrics;
  • High level of attention to detail but ability to step back and observe the bigger picture;
  • A track record of delivering strategic sustainability projects and reporting;
  • Genuine interest in and passion for environmental and social sustainability – a willingness to implement sustainable ways of working and encourage others to improve sustainability performance;
  • Critical thinker with the ability to understand and analyse complex technical concepts but explain them simply in a relevant way to a diverse range of audiences;
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.);
  • Skilful manager of stakeholder relationships, willing to challenge where appropriate;
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to influence and instil new behaviours and,
