Forestry & Landscaping
Promoting a landscape approach to the natural environment
Landscape approaches
Forestry and landscape professionals work with natural and human landscapes, managing natural assets and designing environments for the mutual benefit of people and the natural world.
Within the IES we see forestry and landscape professionals as playing a key role in facilitating the sustainable use of natural resources, including woodlands, as well as the sustainable, fair, and resilient management of landscapes. IES members working in forestry and landscaping are informed by the breadth of interdisciplinary environmental science, producing holistic outcomes that maintain, enhance, or restore the natural and built environment.

At the IES, foresters and landscapers can connect with the full breadth of environmental professionals, giving them access to interdisciplinary knowledge-sharing, holistic solutions, and best practice. Through CPD, webinars, and training, members can gain access to insights that set them apart from their professional competitors.
Our special interest communities allow forestry and landscape professionals to work directly with experts on key topics, making lasting connections which can enrich their professional practice, such as through our Climate Action Community or the Foundation for Water Research.
